Hugel, Riesling Schoelhammer Vintage:2011The crown in the Hugel jewels, Schoelhammer comes from 30 rows in the core of Grand Cru Shoenenbourg, high above Riquewihr. An intense, dry and mineral charged Riesling with floral aromas and concentrated lime lemon zest flavours. Fermented in neutral oak, this retains absolute purity and clarity of flavour. Bottled in Spring 2012, this vintage was first released in 2018. Still very youthful and with decades ahead.

An elegant and pure nose is notably ripe but evidences ample classic Chablis aromas that include pear

the 2018 Extra-Brut Les Empreintes was disgorged in November 2023 with a dosage of 1

imposing Barolo will require patience

Here is a straight shooting and enjoyable expression of Sangiovese

It's not as intense as the bigger vintages but is beautifully precise

so the wine lacks the polish of the better vintages

All but invisible wood sets off the very ripe nose of spiced plum and black raspberry along with hints of violet
